Vacuum Bake Out

A vacuum bake out is an effective way of removing embedded surface contamination (such as moisture) from your vacuum system that would otherwise desorb slowly when the system is under vacuum preventing ultra-high vacuum (UHV ) pressures from being reached. With out a vacuum bake out it is unlikely that you will reach pressures of 10^-8 mbar or lower. Temperature uniformity of the vacuum system thermally homogenous during the bake out procedure, if not, contaminants will gather at ‘cold-spots’.

Choosing the right vacuum bake out method for your ultra-high vacuum (UHV) application can be difficult. there are a number of techniques and they vary in effectiveness and cost. Concept Vacuum are here to help you achieve your bake out goals. We supply:

• Heater tape - cost effective, but can be tricky to get even distribution. Rated for 300°C for repeated wrapping and unwrapping.  
• Heating blankets - perfect for large areas. Silicone or aluminium foil options. Low cost and easy to apply. Up to 230°C.
• Soft bake out enclosure tents - great for systems with many items of equipment that need heating, such as Omicron systems. Customisable and easy to modify. Fast to build and high temperature uniformity. Reach temperatures up to ~150°C.
• Bake out jackets - highest bake out temperatures (up to ~500°C) and excellent temperature uniformity. High efficiency and quick to install and remove. 

Tapes, blankets, tents and jackets are all customisable to suit your application. All solutions are available in clean room compatible options, up to ISO 4 (Class 10). We also have solutions for hazardous areas (ATEX).

We supply complete packages including all the connectors, controllers and accessories your need.
