Machined molybdenum ring

Refractory Metals

Refractory metals are a group of metals with extremely high melting points, making them ideal for applications where high temperatures are a concern. Some of the most common refractory metals include tungsten, tantalum, and molybdenum. These metals offer a number of features and benefits that make them ideal for high-temperature applications, including:

  • High melting temperatures: Refractory metals have melting points that are well above those of other metals, making them resistant to melting and deformation at high temperatures.
  • High thermal conductivity: Refractory metals are excellent conductors of heat, making them ideal for applications where heat needs to be transferred efficiently.
  • High strength: Refractory metals are very strong, even at high temperatures. This makes them ideal for applications where high loads need to be supported.
  • Corrosion resistance: Refractory metals are resistant to corrosion by a variety of chemicals, making them ideal for applications where corrosion is a concern.

If you are looking for a material that can withstand extreme temperatures, then refractory metals may be the solution. Concept Vacuum supply custom machined parts, bolts and nuts made from high purity tungsten, tantalum, and molybdenum. Contact us  today to learn more about our refractory metal products and services.
